The A&W Root Beer Barrel was a prototype created for Alan Frank, the creative agency for KFC. This eye catching display was created from digitally printed corrugated E-Flute and PETG plastic. Before sending this project through the prototyping process, renders were created for the client to approve concept. After being given the green light, a number of precursory “white sample” rounds were produced in order to perfect the dieline for production. Eventually art files were created and sent to production.

White samples are a quintessential step of the prototyping process. This step allows the structural designer to ensure that the specified materials and dielines will in fact work together before spending time and money on printing.
